Consultants play a significant role on client engagements, developing junior consultants’ skills and contributing to the firm in a variety of ways. Core responsibilities are in the following areas:

Project and Team Management:

  • Deliver training and coach individuals on Vantage’s negotiation and relationship management processes and tools
  • Design and lead consulting projects for Fortune 500 clients
  • Analyze complex qualitative data
  • Designing client deliverables such as business processes to manage complex corporate relationships
  • Contribute significantly to Vantage’s Areas of Focus: Alliances, Sourcing and Supplier Management, Sales Advisory & Enterprise Learning
  • Conduct diagnostic interviews
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and teams under tight deadlines

Client Management:

  • Partner with senior executives to create overall project plans to achieve client objectives
  • Work closely with client project teams to pro-actively identify and resolve issues that may adversely impact project
  • Facilitate meetings and participating in working sessions with clients
  • Actively and methodically align various cross-functional stakeholders around objectives and measures of success
  • Continuously communicate project status and results

Internal Management:

  • Write articles and white papers on Vantage practice
  • Create case studies to support marketing and business development efforts
  • Coach junior consultants

All Consultants are affiliated with one of Vantage’s practices (Alliances, Sourcing & Supplier Management, Sales Advisory and Enterprise Learning) and are expected to become a thought leader in that area over time.


  • 3-5 years of traditional management consulting experience
  • Strong academic record
  • Highly effective problem solving and analytical skills (gathering, synthesizing, and analyzing complex qualitative data; experience building business processes and utilizing relationship management tools)
  • Experienced in working on consulting teams consisting of members with varied skill levels
  • Outstanding client facing skills
  • Demonstrated interest in negotiation capabilities and/or supply chain management and/or business alliances
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple commitments and tasks simultaneously
  • History of building effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Facilitation experience
  • Intellectual curiosity, and interest in learning more about the theory and practice of negotiation and relationship management as well as our specific practices
